welcome to israel

Starting July 1 Tourist Will be Welcome to Israel

After nearly a year and a half of Israel’s closed door policy to tourists, Israel is finally opening up. We’ve seen partial openings over the last six month, with all kinds of bureaucratic hurdles, which often, unfairly, left people locked out.

So now the deal is really simple. If you were vaccinated, you are welcome. But nothing is ever so simple. It has yet to be determined which vaccines are on the accepted list. For travelers from the US surely Pfizer and Moderna make the cut. Johnson & Johnson? AstraZeneca? Sputnik? Chinese vaccines? We will leave that up to the new government to figure out.

Another issue up for grabs is quarantine. Israel has yet to decide if travelers will need to test positive for antibodies in order to be allowed to roam free upon entry.

Lastly and most importantly, so there should be no misunderstanding, people who were not vaccinated but have recovered from Covid will NOT be allowed in. So for all those with kids who have loads of antibodies but no vaccination, you may have a tough decision ahead, at least for the time being.

We look forward to seeing you all soon. Stay safe and healthy until then!
